Very different

So far, I know it has only been 7 weeks, but this pregnancy has been way different than Kai's. I like to brag about my 1st two trimesters w/ Kai b/c I had no real typical preganancy issues. No vomiting, no nausea, no sore breasts, nothing, just was really tired. Other than that I used to say if this is what being pregnant is like than I will do it all the time! HA! I definatley put my foot in my mouth on that one. I am nauseous all the time, have terrible heartburn which makes it uncomfortable to sit, lie, etc. I am REALLY tired and super moody! It is really a different experience so far for me. Don't get me wrong, I am over the moon w/ happiness that it finally happened, just not loving the symptoms that come along with it. ;)
My first dr appointment is on Thursday, Dec 18. I am excited to go in, not that anything will be happening to interesting but just excited for my first pregnancy visit. I really can't wait for the first ultrasound! Not sure how far along I will be before I get one but I am really anxious to see our little bean.
I have a hunch as to what I think the baby is. I am not telling anyone b/c the feeling isn't as strong as it was with Kai. I KNEW he was a boy. I have my thoughts on this one and we will see around March if I am right or not. But for now, I am leaving you with the names (Like them or not these are it):

Baby #2

We are pregnant w/ baby #2. I am so excited and can't wait for this pregnancy to bloom. I am due late July, early August. I will get an appointment soon and have a more final due date later. I will post on here to keep everyone updated. Please pray my pregnancy and delivery go well. I am hoping no blood pressure issues arise this time. Brad says the doctors better watch me like a hawk. Kai says he wants a sister.

Almost 3

I am taking this week off and staying home to potty train Kai. Yesterday, while Grandma Cindy was still here, he went poop and pee on the potty! We made a big deal about it and Grandma took him to Wal Mart to buy a new toy. He was so proud and loves his new Handy Manny toy. Well, this morning, he pulled down his pull up and pants and said, "I poop on potty." And he did! I was so excited. I am hoping it will be a little easier than I thought. I know it won't be perfect but at least he isn't saying he is a baby and wants to poop in his pull up! LOL So all you mom's out there w/ potty trained kids who know how hard it can be to get one trained, say a prayer for me and wish me luck! ;)

While Cindy and Fred were here, we had our pictures done w/ Kim Harm's Photography and I have a few sneak peaks. She always does a great job! These are Kai's 3 year old pictures. I can't believe in less than a month he will be turning 3!!

Here are a few of the pictures she sent us already:

Keeping up

I know, I am such a slacker on here! Well, Halloween has come and gone and it was a fun time w/ Kai. He LOVED trick or treating and getting his candy. He caught on quick that saying "trick or treat" got him candy in his bag! He went out w/ friends and they were all so cute. The weather was so nice we actually got to go outside, door to door and not freeze our butts off.

We are getting our family pictures taken on Saturday and I am so excited. Kim, our great friend, will be doing them again this year, and every year we are here in CO. She is so talented and I already can't wait to see our results! haha...I know, they haven't been taken yet but I just love her work and sneak peeks she gives you!;)

Next is Thanksgiving and then on to Kai's 3rd birthday! I can't believe it! My baby, 3!! I just love each moment with him and watching him grow has been the best time of my life. I can't wait to see what this next year brings us!

Snow!

Our first snow day of the 2008 fall season. Kai saw it snowing last night and wanted to stay up to play in it. He isn't going to bed like he used to since the move to the big boy bed, so yes, he was up at 11:00 last night. We went and got him out of bed and took him to the door to see the snow. First thing this morning, he said, "I put on my Thomas boots and go in the snow!" Kids are so much fun! Without Kai, I would have thought this morning, "Great, snow! Now it will be cold and I don't want to go outside." But instead of that negative attitude, I got us both ready and we went out and played in the snow. It was fun and we had a blast! He loves to touch the snow and wear his Spider Man hat! He even found some purple flowers sticking up from the snow and was worried about them. He ran over to them and brushed the snow off them and said, "How beautiful!" It really made realize how little we as adults stop to "smell the flowers" as they say. He was having a great time looking at the trees, running after the birds, trying to build a snowman but the snow wasn't sticky enough, and deciding whether or not to go down his snow filled slide when his glove fell off. When he touched the snow with bare hands he decided it was time to go inside..."Too cold, I wash my hands." Haha...we will go out later again, if the snow hasn't melted by then.

Halloween Portraits and Pumpkin Patch

My good friend, Kim, took some pictures of all the kids in their costumes. She is an amazing photographer and we love her work! Here are a few of Kai. He is dressed as Leo w/ Rocket from the Little Einsteins. He loves the costume and the show!
We also went to the pumpkin patch with friends and had a great time. Kai picked out several pumpkins w/ his Grandma Susan.

Happy Fall Y'all!

The weather is cooling down and the leaves are changing colors. It is so pretty and I will miss the warm weather, outdoor fun, and summer, but I also love the fall season. So many holidays to celebrate and enjoy. I cannot wait to go to the pumpkin patch next weekend and get our pumpkins. Halloween is around the corner and I am on the hunt for shoes and shirt to make Kai's Leo costume to go along w/ his Rocket. I am in the fall mood so I found a cute pumpkin background to create a festive scene on my blog. Check back soon for pumpkin patch pictures.
