Gabe
We lost our handsome, most lovable dog, Gabe in the early hours of Sept 13. He passed in his sleep. We knew it was going to happen but when we found him the next morning, it was still hard and we cried and cried! He was the best dog ever and we still can't believe he is gone and we won't be caring for him anymore. He was 12 1/2 years old and survived cancer for 2 1/2 years. They told us he would only live about 3-6 months, but he proved them wrong!
We got him a few months after we were married in March of 96 and has been with us ever since. He was so happy and sweet, just wanting to be petted and be near us. I am thankful he is not in pain or miserable and he went in his sleep. I took a few pictures of him right before he died. I am posting the last 3 pictures I have of him alive and breathing.
We got him cremated and his ashes will be spread in the mountains of Woodland Park. It is comforting to know he will be in the mountains forever.

Kai
I am posting a few pictures of Kai taken the past several months. He is getting so big and I can't wait for his birthday in December! Three years old?! Can it be? My baby is almost 3?! I look at him sometimes and can't believe how lucky I am to have such a little blessing in my life. He has given me so much in the short life he has had here on earth. I have learned love to the extreme, found newness in the world, laughter like no other, and because of him, I have some great friends here in CO(and TX) that our paths would have never crossed otherwise.
Kai after a long day w/ friends. He just fell out right on his chair!
Kai as Captain Feather Sword. He loves his Wiggles!
Daddy cutting his hair. Give him a sucker and he sits still! LOL

Catching up!
Ok, it has been way too long since my last post so I am promising to keep up with it and what is happening here in CO.
Well, Brad started his AMT position on August 18th and he likes it so far. That puts us here in Colorado for 4 more years as of his start date. I have am happy to be staying here b/c there is such much to do as a family and I have many friends that Kai and I just love to pieces!
We have been trying for well over a year to get pg one more time w/ no success. I know I can go to doctors and such but I put it in God's hands and will accept whatever his plans are for me. It is sad to think Kai might be an only child but I know God knows best.
Lisa, my younger sister, had a little girl last November and she is just a doll! I can't believe she will be one soon! We are all so thankful to finally have a little girl in the family to spoil rotten. LOL
Not much else is going on with the Mortons that is super exciting. I am still tutoring online and baby sitting so we can earn a little extra each month and I can be home with Kai.
Just check in often and I promise, this time, there will be updates and pictures!

Fall
I can't believe it is already fall! The weather is still nice here but this year has flown by so quickly! We will be going to get pumpkins next weekend and I was just looking at the pictures we took last year. Man it seems like yesterday. Kai wasn't even walking yet and now he is so active! I can't wait to see him run through the pumpkin patch. How fun!
He is going to be a Kansas City Chiefs football player for Halloween. I can't wait! This time of year is so much fun. I know we will probably be getting snow soon. YUCK! We had our first big blizzard in October last year. Here's hoping for no snow!
Brad made Tech Sergeant and I get to pin him tomorrow. I am very excited and proud. He worked so hard for this and he can't wait to put on his stripes Oct 1.

What's going on here in CO
Well, the summer is wrapping up and I am not ready for the cold weather or snow! The summer has been nice and hot. I was able to go to MO in Aug for 2 weeks and while I was there, my mom had a stroke. She is still out of work but is recovering well. She can talk and walk but she is a bit slower and gets off balance easier than normal. She needs to quit smoking b/c that was the main cause along with soda! I am just thankful I was there when it happened and I was able to help her when she came home from the hospital. I am still tutoring online, which I LOVE! It keeps me involved with education and I meet kids from all over the states. I can always pick out the southern ones b/c they have the best manners and say "ma'am" all the time! LOL Kai is growing so fast! He has a BIG personality and always gets attention when we go places. He makes the funniest faces (one I posted) and dances to all the Wiggles songs for people when you sing them for him! He is already in the terrible two phase and punishment does not phase him at all. I am really going to have my work cut out for me with him! We are working on #2 and hopefully it will be soon. My little sister is having a little girl, Jillian August, who is due on Kai's bday. We are so excited to finally have a girl! Not much else is going on just work, house and mommy duties. Check in often, I will try to post something new at least once a week but I do so much on myspace on might get behind on this one. I will try not to though!

Hello
I am creating this blog site for all my friends who do not have myspace. This is a great way to stay in touch. Visit as often as you wish. I may not post a lot on here, but I will try to update as much as I can. I hope everyone is doing well. Miss you!
